A middle child born from Grandma Vonnie

No bigger than a bundle of small sticks

He used to work in a big cotton field

He went to school with my Grandma Mildred

Drove a farming tractor that was big-wheeled

In 1967, they were wed

The good Lord blessed him with three strong sons

Loved country music and playing guitar

His love for us was stronger than the suns

Liked frying fish and never let them char

He was so kind, to some he was Grandpa

Of course I love him, he is my Papa
