Joyous

In the frame of the door,

Through the glass of the window,

With softened film of my heart,

I wait for you.

To seek intendment,

To smolder resentment,

To sustain encouragement,

I wait for you.

In knowledge of distance,

Through self-parting timing,

With dwindling hope,

I wait for you.

When courage beholds,

When seconds bestow,

When choices bewither,

I wait for you.

In pursuit of essence,

Through fear in love,

With the anchor of flesh,

I wait for you.

If you were here,

If I knew you’d stay,

If I knew you’d leave,

If you would never come,

My friend,

I’d wait for you.
