The sky after a storm

Cerulean, periwinkle, ocean

Vibrant color reflected off rain-soaked pavement

The sidewalk and the sky

Becoming one

Despite the gloomy, thundering shower,

Torrents tearing towards the earth only minutes before,

The world now seems light

Resilient

Ready for anything

With an April-showers-bring-May-flowers kind of hope

It is this hope that fills me as I step out,

No longer hiding from dark days and rain

Hope for myself,

Hope for the world,

Hope for today and days I can't dream of

The storm has passed, and now

Anything is possible under this great

blue

sky.
