Jeff Rawson

Creative thinker and designer
"Decide what to be and go be it." Most of my advice comes from Avett Brothers songs. Or could be used as a yearbook quote. This one seems finite, but it's quite the opposite. It's how I live daily. I go be what I want to be. If it doesn't work out or I get bored, I decide to be something else. It's cool to have permission to do so.

Jeff Rawson is an award-winning creative thinker and designer with a diverse background in retail, academia, research, and product development. Leading creative teams for the past dozen years, Jeff is now the managing director of rustmedia, founder of The Scout, and organizer of the Shipyard Music Festival.

Favorite writers/thinkers/artists: This one's always changing, but Norman Rockwell, Mark Twain, and Chris LeDoux inspired many of my early creative decisions.

Inspired by:

1. Nature. The best ideas, the best stress relief, the best experiences always seem to come from the outdoors.

2. Music. Anytime I'm working, writing, or creating, I need music to create the rhythm in my work.

3. Failure. Mine and others'. It shows that someone had the courage to try something challenging.
